Title: Mobile sensing and apps for data collection in official statistics

Abstract: Respondents participate as a favor to researchers and in return we promise to improve the world. Holding up our end of this bargain requires trim study designs respecting the tension between our needs (more data) and theirs (less burden). Tools like smart surveys and sensors offer a solution: higher quality data with less effort. In this seminar, we'll explore their potential to replace burdensome diary-based studies like the Household Time Use Study or Travel Diary Study, and investigate whether they live up to the hype.  .

This seminar is tailored for all Master's students, you can use these hours for AAF credit recognition. For further information, please contact <sma-dss@uniroma1.it>
